Purpose of Position

The Technical Writer writes, edits, controls, and distributes all required regulatory manuals for Flight Operations. The Technical Writer also maintain multiple Flight Operations, NJS145LLC, and Maintenance policy and training manuals, procedures and bulletins as required.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Prepares drafts and final content for various regulatory and technical Flight Operations and Maintenance manuals and documents (e.g., FOM, FAM, FOH, OpSpecs/MSpecs, Discrepancy Programs) using Adobe FrameMaker, WebOPSS, Comply365 ProAuthor, or other document publishing software. Applies information mapping, department style guide, and technical writing skills to ensure brevity, clarity, and technical accuracy of manual contents and compliance with FAA technical administrative guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Uses available research tools and materials to conduct research related to assignments. Guides SMEs in creation of new documentation, including determining the type and style of documentation and best method for production.
  • Facilitates the progress of all assigned changes through the workflow process/software and coordinates with SMEs and other stakeholders from revision launch or creation through distribution of final product as required.
  • Acts as resource to users outside of Document Control producing policy and procedure documentation.
  • Manages document distribution, currency, and change comments in electronic library accessible to company, crews, and FAA.
  • Creates or revises required graphics using Adobe Photoshop.
