What your job will be like:

As a Chief of Staff Intern you will be supporting the Jefferson Lab Laboratory Director and Deputy Directors of Operations and Science and Technology. You will report to the Lab Director. This internship is designed to give future leaders the opportunity to learn about executive leadership through developing project plans for initiatives to support the lab's strategy, developing and executing robust processes that use the latest technology to realize efficiency gains, and team with lab leadership to take operational excellence to the next level. This internship will offer valuable industry and functional insight by giving you the opportunity to have a mentor and learn from senior executives at a premier science laboratory.

In this role you will:


  • Support completion of special projects and initiatives on behalf of the Directorate.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives. Support the execution and monitoring of strategic objectives under guidance of the Directorate and senior leadership team.

  • Propose and set key performance indicators to measure and improve identified performance areas.


  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


  • Completing special projects and initiatives with skillful oversight and support.


Qualifications We Require:


  • Must be a full-time college currently enrolled in an MBA programwith aGPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Must be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft office products.
  • Creative and adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing and following through; highly energetic and able to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to ensure information and direction are clearly conveyed.
