JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Risk Analyst is responsible for functions relating to Charter's risk management insurance processes, annual insurance renewals, review of contract insurance language, administration of non-casualty insurance claim as well as coordination with accounting for claim reserves and similar activities. This role will assist with various risk management projects as needed.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Support Risk Management department in identifying and evaluating present and future risks to prepare for adverse possibilities and minimizing Charter's exposure to those events
  • Gather, analyze, and prepare necessary information from various business leaders and department to present to insurance companies as part of annual insurance renewals
  • Assist in preparation of policy renewal submissions, including review and analysis of exposure data provided by business segments
  • Assist in reporting and administration of non-casualty claims
  • Review insurance policies, forms, and endorsements to ensure understanding of coverage
  • Review contractual language for insurance requirements to ensure the Company maintains adequate insurance coverage and meets necessary requirements, as necessary
  • Review and process monthly/weekly casualty insurance claim invoices for payments to 3rd party claim administrator and / or insurance companies
  • Prepare monthly casualty insurance claim activity reporting for discussion with Accounting
  • Assist leadership in analyzing financial data and other materials for discussions with management
  • Develop relationships with brokers, insurance companies, attorneys, and other team members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to show independent judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of company personnel, including claimants, customers & attorneys
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, database, etc.)
  • Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations
  • Knowledge of basic insurance programs

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
  • Administrative Experience - 2-4
  • Accounting Experience - 1-3
  • Risk Management Experience - 0-2

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Preferred Education
Associate of Risk Management or Certified Risk Manager or related field
