Position Overview


Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in Quantum Information Science and Engineering ( QISE). The successful applicant will conduct research in QISE, with a focus on the development of materials and devices. The candidate will help mentor a diverse population of undergraduate students performing research in the lab, will be responsible for the maintenance of instrumentation and equipment, and will be expected to publish and present their experimental work.

Requirements and Preferences


Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies No
Normal Work Schedule
9 am to 6 pm, hours varied as needed.
Department Required Skills
Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education, have strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with undergraduate students, the Pl and other faculty members.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Applicants with background knowledge in quantum information science and engineering, particularly quantum hardware platforms. Applicants with proven experience in at least two of the focal areas: cryogenics, thin-film synthesis, electrical characterization (DC & Microwave), microwave device packaging, optical/photonics devices, and superconducting electronics.
