Overview

Job Purpose

ICE Futures U.S., Inc., a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. presents a unique opportunity for a full time Analyst to join its Market Regulation team. ICE Futures U.S., Inc. is a U.S. derivatives exchange registered with and regulated by the CFTC as a contract market for commodity futures and options. The Market Regulation Department is responsible for enforcing the Exchange's rules through market advisories, investigations and disciplinary actions. In this position you will be responsible for investigating trading activity in derivatives markets to detect potential violations of Exchange rules and CFTC Regulations applicable to trading in energy, agricultural, & financial futures and options traded on ICE Futures U.S. markets, and provide guidance to market participants based on their dynamic needs. You must be professional, proactive, analytical, able to collaborate with others and create efficient, innovative approaches to gathering and analyzing data, and communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop substantive knowledge of Exchange's rules and CFTC regulations
  • Stay informed on relevant Federal regulations, policy and developments
  • Develop knowledge of commodity markets, particularly related to energy, financial & agricultural markets
  • Monitor the relation between cash commodity fundamentals and the futures market, particularly in energy and agricultural markets
  • Work with large, complex data sets
  • Research data from a variety of real time and post trade systems to identify abnormalities or potential rule violations
  • Document detailed analyses of trading activity
  • Conduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to disciplinary committees
  • Build relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules
  • Improve common processes to find efficiencies
  • Collaborate with others on technology and systems to enhance operational processes

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Juris Doctorate
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Familiarity with futures markets, commodities and trading
  • Familiarity with data analytic tools is a plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and meet deadline pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • Ability to communicate with market participants, federal regulators and executive management
  • Knowledge of futures exchange operations, trading, risk management or regulations

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between 75,00 - 85,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
