Position

Corporate Director - Insurance and Risk Management

Location

Birmingham AL - Corporate Office

Directly reports to

Vice President & Treasurer

Position Summary

Risk Management for a $2.0+ billion multinational private company. The individual is responsible for the placement and management of global property and casualty insurance program and all activities associated with the placement and management of that program

Position Scope

Risk Management Department coordinates all aspects of the risk management program with direction and guidance from the VP and Treasurer.

Some specific tasks may include:

  • Global Property & Casualty Insurance Program
    • Prepare annual insurance budget
    • Collect, consolidate and submit to broker exposure and loss information required for annual insurance renewal
    • Lead insurance renewal process internally and externally with brokers and carriers
    • Attend insurance carrier meetings (and as needed throughout the year)
    • Prepare allocation of premiums to divisions
    • Coordinate liability and workers compensation insurance policy audits with insurance carriers and divisions
    • Review insurance policies and request any necessary policy revisions
    • Maintain hard copy insurance policy books and electronic copies of policies
  • Merger and Acquisition Risk Management Due Diligence (work with VP & Treasurer)
  • Review all contracts and leases with legal for insurance compliance
  • Participate in ISNetworld (McWane's contractor and supplier management vendor) meetings
  • Coordinate surety bond needs with divisions and broker
  • Participate and present at Annual Financial Conference, EHS Orientation and any other McWane sponsored meetings
  • Review quarterly General Liability loss runs and Management Liability loss runs and submit to brokers and carriers
  • Assist with claims issues - work with legal, third-party administrators, carriers, etc. through claims process for all lines of coverage
  • Perform workers compensation claim file audits at divisions, as necessary
  • Prepare and submit Self-Insured Filings to states annually, or as required by state
  • Coordinate outside actuarial analysis and reports annually or as needed
  • Coordinate property insurance carrier loss prevention inspections - attend those inspections, as necessary.

  • Medicare/CMS Administrator/Facilitator
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in insurance industry- broker or risk management (Certified Insurance Counselor, Associate in Risk Management and/or other insurance professional designations preferred)
  • Experience in placement of global insurance programs
  • Extensive skills in Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills - both written and verbal
  • Professional demeanour
  • Organized and detail oriented
