Your Role

Join Atlas Copco as a Research and Development Team Leader where you will oversee the development of efficient and cost-effective products and components for our engineered to order centrifugal compressors. You will also facilitate the release of new products into production through the design process and creating the technical report. As part of the Research and Development Team, you will report to the Reseach and Development Manager. You will lead a team of Design Engineers and a Development Specialist. You will work with marketing, order handling, engineering and aftermarket to provide technical support. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

• You will perform daily supervisory functions including approval of drawings and timecards.
• You will lead the project team in development of new products and improvements.
• You will propose R&D projects and assist with proposals from engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and service.
• You will coordinate with other departments and engineering groups to gain support on development projects.
• You will maintain budgets and schedules on projects.
• You will report on the monthly status of all projects and present status updates at Product Committee Meetings.

To succeed, you will need

• You hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• You have 5 or more years of experience designing turbo machinery equipment.
• You have experience managing and scheduling a team of engineers and designers.
• You have the ability to occasionally travel, including national and international travel up to 5% annually.
