Your role and responsibilities
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements. You will be mainly accountable for: *Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and network issues in a diverse user environment (ex: Engineering, Manufacturing, Financial, Quality, and Maintenance) *Work with team members in troubleshooting and performing root-cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple dependencies (PC workstations, servers, databases, software products, etc.) *Install and configure desktops, laptops, tablets, peripherals and other hardware for end users *Install and maintain network equipment *Maintain virtual servers *Support BUS users as a liaison with other internal support staff *Ensure data backups are being performed *Support plants telephone systems *Requisition computer equipment to support plant operations and advise on software and hardware upgrades *Supports Lean Flex Flow initiatives
Qualifications for the role
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems, within the United States.
- Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
- Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress

This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
