The Role

The Associate Project Manager's (APM) primary role is to manage million dollar capital project orders with responsibility for backlog up to $20 million in support of USA Healthcare sales. Responsibilities include working in partnership with Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, District Service Managers, Shared Services Directors, Zone Service Directors and Vice Presidents, to ensure timely execution of project orders. Ensure assigned projects are done accurately, on-time and in adherence to Terms and Conditions of the Contract. Creates and follows consistent, repeatable project management procedures and processes. Drives effective project results to gain high Customer satisfaction and profitability.

This is a hybrid schedule after training. The team meets at our office in Mentor OH on Wednesday and Thursday.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for overall Customer experience for project orders from quotation through delivery and installation, including post-order evaluation with development and implementation of process improvements
  • Responsible for financial decisions in line with Region Manager authority for expedite and consolidation costs, warehousing and storage charges, and approving free goods orders in support of the project
  • Manages complex capital project orders exceeding $1 million; responsible for leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • Serves as internal project lead, making business decisions to ensure proper execution of projects; assigns business tasks to responsible supporting functions
  • Collaborates with Sales on large project quotes and bids to secure new business
  • Prepares quotations, including supporting data analysis; ensures timely, accurate submittal of quotes and bids
  • Takes ownership of project orders by completing and delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure project deadlines are met
  • Develops project schedule through MS Project or alternative project planning tool
  • Manages tasks among Planning, Sales, Manufacturing, Traffic and Service, and follows up to ensure deadlines are met and each project comes to a successful completion
  • Validates information on Purchase Orders and resolves outstanding issues
  • Contacts Customer to obtain supporting and/or missing documentation

  • Coordinates product shipment from various plant and vendor locations to designated delivery point to meet Customer expectations
  • Communicates all challenges and opportunities presented by Customer to Sales Management
  • Provides feedback and project updates to Business Unit Leaders, Sales Leadership and Customer Operations Management on a scheduled basis
  • Conducts post-project review to provide feedback to team and supporting departments on challenges and opportunities, issue resolution and develops an implementation and execution plan for process improvements
  • 10% travel expected to develop Customer relationships and determine Customer requirements for successful project completion

What You Need To Be Successful

  • At least 2 years ofbusiness experience with direct contact with Customers, Vendors and Sales
  • At least 1year of project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least 10years of experience with direct contact with Customers, Vendors, and Sales
