The Opportunity:

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly forming team at LG Electronics to help shape our inorganic growth activities in the US. As a Corporate Development team member, you'll occupy a highly-visible role in our company, partnering with business unit leaders to help drive growth in existing and emerging business areas. Your responsibilities will span the entire deal lifecycle, from prospecting and evaluating opportunities, to executing transactions, to supporting integration.

Through this role, you'll gain a deep understanding of the industries in which we operate and help identify attractive opportunities ahead of the competition based on strategic fit as well as business and financial terms. You'll also be expected to help grow the team over time and will be afforded ample opportunities to lead.

As the Corporate Development Team Member, you will:



  • Form effective relationships with business unit leaders to understand their strategies and directions and their needs for corporate development support.
  • Develop relationships with external sources of potential partnerships and targets and screen incoming opportunities.
  • Develop, screen and prioritize prospect lists for fit, value and other criteria quickly and with little information.
  • Identify strategic opportunities and be able to articulate clearly how they would be impactful to our businesses.
  • Manage the deal pipeline, present updates and deal progress to internal stakeholders and manage corporate development systems and tools.
  • Support the execution of acquisitions, partnerships and strategic minority investments, including performing financial / valuation analyses, and coordinating due diligence, in partnership with the leadership and other. stakeholders and cross-functional workstream leads, as well as post-transaction integration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on valuation and deal structuring.
  • Support the Sr. Director of Corporate Development and BU leaders in negotiation of deal terms.
  • Prepare deal-related documents such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, Letters of Intent, Partnership and Purchase Agreements with our legal team and legal counsel.
  • Lead the post-acquisition integration workflow and drive to success.


Qualifications:



  • 5-10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Equivalent practical experience of the same is also acceptable. MBA a plus.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints, both verbally and written, in a clear, succinct manner.
  • Exceptional research skills, enthusiasm for making connections with new people, a good team player, and a self-starter with an outstanding work ethic.
  • Strong business judgment with demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate critical decision factors.
  • High level of energy, passion, maturity, and dedication to success; utmost respect for confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and a constantly evolving organization.
  • Capability to negotiate financial deals, along with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring insights realized from processing raw information and data.
