Job Description

The Orlando, FL office of Dewberry is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This position performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

This individual will work in a multi-discipline, team environment with primary responsibility of assisting with the design and production of electrical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects as well as the design of building systems (power distribution and lighting) and life safety plans for various infrastructure projects.



Required Skills & Required Experience

    Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
  • Previous internship experience in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Applicants should have exposure to related electrical engineering design, strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Prepare electrical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications to meet project requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.

Program Information

Summer Intern Program
During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:
- Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
- Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
- Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.

- Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
