QUALITY SUPERVISOR 3rd SHIFT (10:30PM-6:30AM)

COLUMBIA CITY, IN

As a member of the Quality Team, Quality Supervisor will be responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

The Quality Supervisor reports to the Quality Manager.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Supervision and coordination of work activities of hourly production hourly employees.
  • Feedback daily defects to management personnel and production employees.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations to employees.
  • Establish and adjust workforce to meet production schedules.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Daily validation and assure poke Yoke audit are completed and at the beginning of each shift and documented in the quality systems with actions when non-compliance is found.
  • Validate and conduct and Daily Product Audit is completed and documented in the Quality System.
  • Administer disciplinary action as needed.
  • Inspection of products to verify conformance to specification and problem resolution/general maintenance of machinery.
  • Assess production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements and completion of job assignment.
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
  • Set up containment when required.
  • Communicate shop floor problems/defects to the personnel responsible for corrective actions.
  • Complete a Quality Alerts for internal and customer issues, as necessary.
  • Support SQTS written complaints with suppliers QN and close QN's in a timely manner.
  • Serve as Customer Liaison between Lear CC and GM at Fort Wayne assembly plant.
  • Public relations work with all areas involving Lear CC seats at GM.
  • Make sure problems at GM are directed back to proper personnel at Lear CC.
  • IATF16949 application of procedures and knowledge.
  • Conduct meeting to resolve grievances or refer unresolved grievances to next step.
  • Assure adherence of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
  • Participate in plant recycling programs.
  • Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures/processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by ensuring that quality policies, procedures, and processes are followed.



Your Qualifications:



  • Associate degree (AA/AS); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists,
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
