Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst will:

  • Perform testing of registry software to ensure the efficiency of applications used by the Immunization Branch.
  • Perform unit, functional, regression, user acceptance and release testing, establish and improve software release processes / procedures.
  • Assist with design, analysis, maintenance, documentation, and testing of software, e.g. test Immunization Branch software to resolve application issues.
  • Create and document test strategies / test plans / test cases to perform testing.
  • Establish and improve quality assurance processes / procedures.
  • Advise or train users regarding the technical aspects and use of standard software packages, e.g. work with individual users to improve data quality.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $143,800 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 2-3 years' experience in the health field
  • Minimum 1+ years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of software functions and analysis
  • Working understanding of the design, development and analysis of software. Working skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and analysis
  • Understands compliance requirements for applicable industry or agency standards
  • Interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, works independently and as part of a team and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge relating to the design, development and analysis of software.
  • Working skills in software lifecycle management
  • Working skills in software testing
  • Working skills in understanding and implementing the release cycles
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to manipulate and manage data of reports
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports for proposals and other reports as needed
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL

Preferred Qualifications


  • Working understanding of the use of automated testing tools, including skill to perform automated QA procedures
  • Working knowledge of other areas of IT. Knowledge of department processes and procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft DevOps for defect management
