This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring high quality health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. MGBMG provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, behavioral and mental health, specialty care, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, imaging, lab services, infusion, and urgent care both digitally and in person in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Schedule/Location:

This position requires routine on-site presence at our primary care and specialty practices within the Metro-West Sub Region.

Position Summary:

The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing clinical programs and operations that pertain to nursing and clinical support staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs) and other clinical support staff. You will ensure that clinical staff meet or exceed competencies, align with organizational goals, and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations.

This position will collaborate with operational leaders across Mass General Brigham Medical Group to implement care delivery models that enhance patient experience, support improved outcomes, and foster ongoing patient relationships with the organization.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Clinical Leadership & Mentorship:
    Serve as a clinical leader, coach, and mentor to nursing and clinical support staff, fostering independent nursing practices and professional growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure that clinical staff and practice locations comply with state and federal regulations (e.g., DEA, CLIA, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS).
  • Staff Development & Training:
    Develop and implement educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of RN, LPN, and MA staff. Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Collaborate with practice managers and other leaders to develop clinical programs, set operational goals, and implement strategies to ensure the financial viability of clinical operations.
  • Quality & Safety Performance:
    Lead the evaluation of quality and safety metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement programs aimed at achieving clinical excellence.
  • Strategic Planning:
    Partner with Medical Directors and Operations Directors to develop and execute plans that advance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Team Engagement & Support:
    Foster a positive clinical environment that promotes teamwork, patient care, and engagement. Lead clinical process improvement initiatives to ensure best practices across all sites.
  • Fiscal & Administrative Oversight:
    Manage the fiscal responsibilities for clinical programs, recommending cost-saving measures without compromising care quality or productivity.

Qualifications

  • Active State of MA Registered Nursing License.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in a relevant clinical area.
  • Prior leadership experience in clinical operations or program management is highly desirable.
