Job Summary

Specifically, this role will be a part of the centralized Feinberg IT team and sits on the infrastructure team supporting the Feinberg School of Medicine. This position is primarily focused on the Linux operating system (Red Hat and Ubuntu) in physical, virtual and cloud environments but requires some knowledge of other common environments such as Windows and Active Directory. This is a hybrid position and does requires some days in the office.

Specific Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Provides recommendations regarding infrastructure planning and budgeting, including the evaluation of potential infrastructure solutions.

Administration

  • Maintains growth statistics, space forecasts, backup systems, and infrastructure inventories.
  • Performs data backups and recoveries.
  • Monitors and maintains continuity with system licensing and maintenance agreements.
  • Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control.

Development

  • Performs infrastructure upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination.
  • Performs infrastructure administration setup and SOPs on automation.
  • Coordinates infrastructure planning and management.

Performance

  • Completes server patching, monitoring and maintenance.
  • Completes server and database backups and recovery for all servers.

Supervises

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $65,124-$91,581 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
