Job Title: Automation Engineer Intern

Job Summary:

The Automation Engineering Intern will work closely with members of the controls and automation team. This role will be focused on supporting the team initiatives around making improvements to new or existing automated equipment.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Perform engineering-related work requiring the application of educational study and standard techniques and procedures in industrial automation.
  • Supervised assignments & projects have clear & specified objectives.
  • Coordinate with the representatives of Operations teams and Segment to plan and complete projects as assigned.
  • Provide support for automation development which may include wiring and construction of equipment, applications of safety controls and design, electrical design, robotics, vision systems, programming of logic controllers.
  • Maintain and communicate an accurate accounting of project status.


Job Requirements:



  • Enrolled in engineering degree program and of at least sophomore status.
  • Must possess effective analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities. Ability to interpret data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Effective verbal and written communications
  • Speak and write English effectively to convey information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Collaborative approach to partner with teammates, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external) successfully, working closely with others in a team environment. Establish and leverage relationships to achieve common project objectives.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Strong "hands on" approach to getting work completed.
  • Must be flexible to perform a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction, accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
  • Meet all safety requirements for applicable policies and use of equipment.
  • Acceptable attendance to meet company standards and requirements.
  • Proactive and sense of urgency.
  • Detailed Oriented
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to work in a hands-on environment.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to move about within the facility in the facilitation of work teams, problem-solving, and communication with employees and management.
