Position Summary:

The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating volunteer programs at Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN). This position ensures a welcoming and inclusive environment for volunteers, elevates and oversees volunteer opportunities that advance GESMN's mission, and promotes the best use of organizational resources.

Day in the life: In a typical day, a Volunteer Services Coordinator can expect to...



  • Volunteer Coordination: Lead efforts around the full lifecycle of a volunteer, including recruitment, onboarding, training, recognition, and offboarding
  • Program Evaluation and Data Collection: Assess the effectiveness of volunteer services. Initiate surveys, prepare summaries, and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Internal and External Partnerships: Work with partners in Philanthropy and Services and Programs to create meaningful group volunteer opportunities and individual skilled-volunteer opportunities



Job Pay & Perks:



  • Typical starting pay range: $27.38-$37.04 / hr

About You:

Required Knowledge & Skills:



  • Knowledge of volunteering, what motivates people to volunteer, the field of volunteer administration and how to champion the use of volunteers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and knowledge of CRM or other database systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with donors, corporate leaders, board members and colleagues.
  • Understanding of philanthropic principles and the life cycle of volunteers and donors.
  • Demonstrated skill development in diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management.



Prior Experience & Education:



  • 3-5 years of experience succssfully coordinating professional volunteer program(s) of 50+ volunteers.
  • Experience collaborating with people at all levels of an organization/across departments.
