The Junior Systems Administrator position is an entry-level operating position concentrating on the support and management of IT systems (domains, active directory, email, etc.) and business information infrastructure (data center, security platform, phone system, etc.)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining systems hardware and software
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
  • Monitor and maintain system and database backups
  • Support Windows and Linux server environments
  • Configuring and maintaining VMWare infrastructure
  • Work with helpdesk team to provide support for complex issues
  • Ability to work with third party vendors to troubleshoot existing software and configure new software
  • Support and maintain current IT infrastructure
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems or similar. Experience, in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, or 2012 R2.
  • Knowledge of RHEL or CentOS.
  • Knowledge of with AD/DNS, DHCP, and SMB/CIFS.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of Office365 or Exchange, Lync, and SharePoint on premise solutions.
  • Exposure to monitoring and reporting applications, such as SolarWinds or Microsoft SCOM helpful.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts, to include firewalls and load balancers.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP, UDP, IP, VLANs, and VPNs.


Preferred Skills:



  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system environments, to include builds, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere virtual infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS server hardware.
  • Knowledge of AD/DNS, DHCP, and SMB/CIFS.
  • Knowledge of Office365 (Exchange, Lync, and SharePoint) Implementation.

  • Ability to work multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant manner with others.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
