Position: Independent Living Plus Program Coach About DABSJ: D.A. Blodgett - St. John's is a private non-sectarian agency that serves vulnerable children and families from the entire community. Our core objectives are to strengthen families, help children heal from abuse and neglect, provide homes and help kids thrive. About this Opportunity: The Independent Living Coach (ILC) will employ a strengths-based approach to support young people ages 18-21 exiting the foster care system. The ILC will provide one-on-one support, resources, and interventions to these emergent adults as they identify, and access critical basic needs and services related to their transition to independent living. Support will include individual and group coaching, assessment of youth independent living skills and knowledge, treatment planning and implementation, referrals to community resources, community advocacy, and more. Our ideal candidate must possess a minimum of an Associate degree in Human Services or minimum of 60 semester hours or 95 quarter hours in a related field of study. Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred. Experience Requirements: one year of experience preferred working in child welfare, homeless youth services, or youth mental health services. Strong understanding of youth development factors. Basic computer skills. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Offered benefits and more:
