We pride ourselves on the impact we have on the early childhood field through supporting teachers who are doing the most important work there is, teaching children to become creative, confident thinkers.

Position Overview

Data is foundational to our success. In close partnership with the VP of Data and AI/ML, the Data Architect will be a key player in designing the data architecture to achieve our data strategy. Initially focusing on the needs of our Reports Modernization, you will collaborate with the Senior Manager of Data and the data engineers to explore the right data platform patterns through proof-of-concepts and execute on that vision. You will partner with our data analysts to detail data models that will scale to meet our customers' expanding reporting needs. These efforts will reduce engineering time in data ingestion and transformation stages and help us create a process that allows rapid creation of customer facing reports.

As you grow in your role, you will explore the needs of the business and the engineering organization as we grow domestically and internationally. Along with our UI experts, you will identify reporting frameworks or BI tools to achieve our growing reporting needs. You will work to broaden the knowledge of our data, standardize data transformations, and influence data handling across the company. With your passion for data, you will be able to demonstrate your exceptional problem-solving skills and articulate intricate technical details with clarity while leaning heavily on your ability to collaborate and be a team player. Come join our team; we can't wait to work with you!

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Execute POCs to inform our path forward for our data platform
  • Set data standards within the Data teams and influence data patterns across the engineering organization
  • Work closely with members of the data team to implement the selected data platform, reporting framework and BI solutions
  • Identify areas for improvement in our data platform, visualizations, and data patterns

  • Hands on experience in building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines and architectures
  • Knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud services
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data processing languages
  • Expertise with Spark, EMR and other big data tools like Hadoop, Delta Tables, Kafka, etc.
