Description & Requirements

As a Senior Tax Services Specialist at Forvis Mazars, you will gain valuable experience and use your critical thinking abilities to help clients solve problems and apply your social skills to build rewarding business relationships. You will have the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of industries as you develop your technical skills and strengthen the foundation on which you will build your career. You will also work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset.

How you will contribute:

  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns
  • Planning and researching tax issues
  • Managing client relationships and providing ultra-responsive client service
  • Identifying opportunities to serve clients through other Forvis Mazars services
  • Assisting with the development and supervision of other tax personnel

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality control consciousness and a sharp eye for detail in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivation and commitment to work on tight deadlines while quickly adjusting to changing expectations and requirements
  • Resourcefulness with an elevated level of professionalism and accuracy
  • Ability to be a proactive self-starter who is an enthusiastic team player and customer service-focused

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • 2 years or more of professional experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting (tax) and/or industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • In-depth knowledge of current tax laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or internships in a public accounting firm performing tax work
  • Proficiency in tax provision analysis
