Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy or Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapist's Assistant has the responsibility and accountability for implementing care for patients referred for Occupational Therapy according to the plan of care established by an occupational therapist. Occupational Therapist's Assistant is responsible for adhering to all standards of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act as they apply to providing therapy care, supplies, equipment and education for their patient population. According to department's Scope of Practice, this position requires providing services to the general patient population, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the physical, perceptual, and cognitive needs of the individuals served, and clear knowledge of activities of daily living. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values and the Standards of Behavior. The associate shall support the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini's strategic plan and the goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Requirements:


  • Graduate of School of Occupational Therapist Assistant program, minimum of Associate's degree.
  • English required; bilingual preferred.
  • Excellent with written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Current Louisiana OTA License required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
