UMMH is a roughly $3B academic medical center in central Massachusetts. Our IS department supports both clinical users and back end operations that include leveraging Epic, Workday, and ServiceNow. The UMMH IS department is currently working to refine and build out their AI strategy. This includes developing specific proof of concept projects to leverage methodologies in how work is performed efficiently and effectively. The focus of the POC's will be tools in the clinical space (potentially Epic AI), back office space (AI tools supporting Workday), and daily operational tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot.

We are seeking a highly motivated college intern to assist our project management team with logistics on managing the effort, and to help build subject matter expertise around the AI strategy. The intern will:

  • Assist with strategy meetings, potentially developing agenda, minutes, or presentations
  • Work with our strategic partner Accenture in developing the strategy, artifacts that support the strategy, and ensuring artifacts are stored and managed in a central document repository

Ideally the right intern will have experience with some level of AI, whether as part of a computer science major, or other classes and interests. The candidate must have experience with Microsoft tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and an understanding of MS SharePoint. Ideally the candidate will have knowledge and understanding of MS OneDrive and MS Co-Pilot.
