Major Responsibilities

1. Creates batches for reference laboratory. Prepares samples to go to reference laboratory for testing.
2. Receives specimens from couriers/transport personnel and readies them for analysis. Receives site batches as necessary.
3. Places samples in correct rack for placement on analyzers
4. Responsible for adding on tests for existing samples.
5. Responsible for test cancelation requests.
6. Answers phone in a professional manner and provides information for our customers.
7. Prepares and transmits reports accurately for customers.
8. Performs laboratory testing under the direct supervision of the Charge Technologist upon completion of training and competency evaluation to include but not limited to the following:
9. Urine dipstick testing
10. Stool occult blood testing
11. Kit testing. Ex: rapid strep, pregnancy, etc.
12. Draws blood specimens from patients. (Webster Campus only)
13. Helps in any department that may require assistance.
14. Performs other related duties as directed by Supervisor.

2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

1. High School Degree, preferred with strong background in the sciences.

1. Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

May be required to move/lift objects up to 50 lbs.
