Job Description

Pay Range: $70,375 to $87,975 per year

  • Responsible for chicken growth performance, quality, and production costs on ranches and ensure, that, through a well-trained staff of Field Supervisorswill meet the requirements of the annual production schedule, animal welfare

    standards and safety. Includes:

    1) Implementing and controlling field compliance with grow-out, disease prevention, and quality programs including animal welfare and food safety.

    2) Coordinating with and informing technical, administrative, and service personnel, and other managers of any information that could affect their decisions or influence bird performance.
  • Responsible for fryer performance, quality, and production. Controlling and maintaining bird health with the aid of allavailable facilities, and equipment to include vehicular, industrial safety, and maintenance awareness programs.

    Implementing and controlling field compliance with grow-out, disease prevention, safety, and quality programs.
  • Coordinating all ranch functions and ensuring accurate completion. Coordinating labor needs and scheduling accordingly. Completing wage records and personnel evaluations on all subordinate employees. Employee development and training. Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed. Administer employee disciplinary actions and assist with the hiring and firing of employees as needed.
  • Assist in the development and submission of proposals, budgets, and projections for production facilities and activities. Setting up and running statistically valid tests under the direction of either the department manager or superintendent that measure the impact of new products or processes. Develop and measure department initiatives to improve performance and/or lower cost.
  • Maintain an efficient staff that operates efficiently and safely. Includes training to develop junior promotable people on staff with interest in advancement and long-term security for the department and the company. Maintain good inter-company (including employee/employer) and community relations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, or related field.
  • Must have minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Chicken Live Production.
  • Must have potential to move minimum of two levels up from current position.
  • Satisfactory performance in current position.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. Must have the ability to multi-task and change direction efficiently.
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles and strong computer skills.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, assertive, objective, resourceful, and work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills, sound judgment and critical thinking ability.
  • Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; must possess strong human resources skills.
  • Excellent team work ability.
  • Must have a strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class C driver's license and acceptable DMV record.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including Bio-Security and Animal Welfare.
