DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Develop and execute strategic and operational projects and processes for the Office of Clinical Effectiveness in partnership with the Chief Quality Officer. Set clear goals, priorities, and objectives for the direct report management team. Oversee multiple departmental operations and designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. Drive complex interdepartmental improvement projects to achieve improved clinical outcomes, and to improve the value and reliability of care across the clinical continuum. Identify areas for improvement based on surveillance of internal performance and assessment of risks, as well as externally defined performance priorities for clinical quality and patient safety. Establish multidisciplinary work teams, facilitate team progress, and ensure and communicate quantifiable results. Direct the identification and implementation of infection control goals and objectives. Partner with other MU Health Care leaders to meet governmental and regulatory requirements, including maintaining effective relationships with agencies, staying current with legal and regulatory changes, and ensuring organizational readiness for surveys. Plan and direct educational offerings for leadership, medical staff, staff, and trainees on performance improvement, patient safety, infection control, and regulatory affairs. Generate budgets, timelines, and work plans, and ensure successful execution. Build and lead a high-performing team. Responsible for employee recruitment, performance evaluation and personnel management and ongoing development and engagement. Oversee the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care across units. Direct the implementation and oversight of MU Health Care time and attendance policies and practices. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired in leading quality and patient safety programs. Seven (7) years of related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years of managerial experience in a complex or academic healthcare setting.
