Apogee is actively seeking a Technical Writer supporting the US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I).

The SE&I Division serves as the principal enterprise systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and technical authority for the NC3 Enterprise within the Department of Defense. As the lead NC3 Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) arm of the NC3 Enterprise Center, the division applies and remains up to date on systems engineering best practices while remaining agile when translating mission and operational requirements into appropriate technical specifications and solutions. SE&I also has the
responsibility to apply established standards, and when necessary, develop new standards, to ensure seamless interoperability across the NC3 enterprise. The SE&I is comprised of 3 branches:



  • Enterprise Sustainment & Evolution
  • Enterprise Performance & Capabilities
  • Enterprise Mission Management


This is a full-time opportunity at Ft Meade, MD.

What you will be doing:



  • Develop, manage, and deliver training, outreach, documentation and related materials for the consolidated database and related purposes.
  • Provide support for outreach, training, documentation, and related materials.
  • Deliver training materials as requested by the customer.
  • Asist the NEC SE&I Division with outreach, technical writing, and related activities.
  • Provide the customer with as-requested status updates and deliverables.
  • Maintains the status of writing training documentation and sets timely dates for completion.
  • Applies consistent formatting and style throughout technical documentation.
  • Migrate, edit, and incorporate video, audio, and graphics into technical documentation.



Minimum Requirements
Citizenship: US Citizenship
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI
Education: HS Diploma
Years of Experience: 11+ years' relevant experience (in lieu of degree) analyzing interagency products to create requirements, developing CONOPS, Integrated Priority Lists, staffing decision documentation, and adjudicating content in addition to:

  • Being capable of applying technical expertise, initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work well within a team and to execute tasks independently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong command of MS Office suite tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, or similar educational equivalent
Years of Experience: 5+ years' relevant experience analyzing interagency products to create requirements, developing CONOPS, Integrated Priority Lists, staffing decision documentation, and adjudicating content.



  • NC3 experience (desired)

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HSA and HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
  • The base pay for this position ranges from $70,000 to $125,000 across the U.S. There is a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training and education.
