Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $157,500 - $409,700. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Application Window Open date: October 4, 2024 Most recent review date: Wednesday, Nov 6, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UC Davis Health School of Medicine is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Microbiology at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, in the Professor of Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will be an operational leader, providing strategic vision and collaborative implementation to grow the department's Microbiology Division. The primary clinical responsibilities include medical/scientific directorship of laboratory/division staff in collaboration with the department chair and other department section leaders, laboratory test development and validation, oversight of laboratory operations, and maintenance of licensure and accreditation. Participation in the institution's research/scholarly mission is expected, either as a collaborator or as an intellectual leader of clinically oriented research projects, depending on the academic series chosen for appointment. The candidate will have opportunities for collaboration within the UC Davis Health System, including the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the California National Primate Center. Additional responsibilities will include teaching housestaff and medical students, interdisciplinary conferences, and curriculum development in subspecialty areas.
