OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school student (Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or similar degree) for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025. Imagine working on rewarding water infrastructure projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities! The internship is available in the following locations: Denver, CO; Loveland, CO; Greenwood Village, CO; Boise, ID. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025. We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity from approximately September - November 2024. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will take place in the Fall/Winter. Offers will be extended in Winter/Spring. Timeframe subject to change. WHAT YOU'LL DO The summer internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain experience working alongside project managers, administrators, and technical staff within Merrick's growing Water Practice. The intern will be exposed to Merrick's diverse team and a variety of topics, including water and wastewater treatment and distribution, water reuse, river and stormwater engineering, government funding services, and marketing. The intern can expect to learn and facilitate project management procedures. There will also be opportunity to support and attend outreach events and work on related deliverables. Interns will receive water specific training throughout the summer covering the following areas: industry vocabulary, engineering consulting 101, project management planning and tools, and more! Additionally, civil water interns will have the opportunity to complete optional summer reading focused on the management of water, specifically, the challenges facing the American West. Merrick's summer intern program is treated as an entry level hiring pipeline. This position requires collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to problem solve.
