Quality Assurance Specialist

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, particularly those outlined in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). This position involves planning and conducting routine inspections, both internal and external, as well as data audits, in-progress inspections, and report audits independently. The individual in this role is tasked with preparing comprehensive inspection reports that reflect adherence to GLP principles, developing and reviewing standard operating procedures to align with regulatory expectations, and assessing corrective action reports to ensure they meet necessary standards of appropriateness and completeness. Additionally, the role requires a deep understanding of GLP regulations to effectively identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective measures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in laboratory practices. The individual will also provide training on GLP standards to ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to these critical guidelines, promoting a commitment to quality and integrity in all laboratory activities.

  • Plan and conduct routine in-progress inspections, testing facility inspections (internal and external), data audits, and phase, interim, summary and final reports independently.

  • Prepare inspection/audit reports of an analytical and interpretive nature; Write and review standard operating procedures

  • Review corrective action reports for appropriateness, completeness, and compliance

  • Provide effective leadership to ensure compliance with all quality standards in the area of expertise with little direction from manager using deductive reasoning and the application of scientific principals and compliance regulations

  • Lead projects that implement change and solve routine and complex problems for team/department in unique problem areas and conduct training activities both internally and externally

  • Interact and resolve conflicts pertinent to quality assurance and Good Laboratory Practice regulation issues and facilitate team and departmental decisions of regulatory compliance solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required qualifications

  • Education:

  • Ph.D. with minimum of 1 year of experience, or a master's with minimum of 2 years' experience, or a bachelor's with minimum of 5 years' experience

  • Experience in a Quality/Regulated role

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of laboratory and/or field studies preferred.

  • Experience with application and interpretation of EPA GLPs preferred.

  • Ability to present results/ideas to large audiences

  • Team building experience

  • Self-organization and planning skills

  • Use standard techniques to deal with a range of variable problems

  • Develop alternative solutions to problems in discussion with the team

  • Detail oriented and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel up 10% if desired

Base salary estimated range between $68,528.00 - $102,792.00 annually, depending on the hiring location. You may also be offered bonuses, RSUs cash equivalent, or commission.
