Mental Health Dietary Unit Coordinator Salary:

$18.00/HR or $37,440.00

Mental Health Dietary Unit Coordinator Shift:

Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM

COMHAR is nonprofit focused on empowering individuals through health and human services that has been around since 1975. We are currently hiring a full-time entry-level Mental Health Dietary Unit Coordinator. This position oversees food service operations at the clubhouse and works directly with members who have serious mental illness. Responsibilities include leading daily meetings, training and supporting members, organizing food service tasks, ensuring health and safety compliance, managing food budgets, and preparing meals. The coordinator will also assist with job placements for members, handle necessary documentation, and participate in training sessions. Candidates should have an least a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of mental health experience, a valid driver's license, and ServSafe Certification (or be willing to obtain it).

Mental Health Dietary Unit Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Unit Meetings twice daily, in which clubhouse members discuss the tasks to be performed in the Food Service Unit, and volunteer to perform those tasks according to their choice. (Attachment I is a current copy of the Food Service Unit Duties list; this list is subject to revision).
  • Work collaboratively with members and staff to plan, organize and carry out the Work Ordered Day (WOD). Encourage member involvement in carrying out the WOD. Provide active support and assistance to members as needed.
  • Participate in the Clubhouse Social/ Recreational program as scheduled.
  • Maintain health and safety standards as required by the Clubhouse and regulating agencies. Ensure safety of members, and security of Clubhouse property and equipment.
  • Maintain food coupon account and monitor all expenditures. Engage members in shopping trips. Assist members in daily accounting activities associated with the cash registers of the Open Door Cafe
  • Prep and prepare breakfast and lunch daily for the Clubhouse and meals on special occasions.
  • Perform Placement Management Functions for assigned placements of TEP program through on-site job coaching, identify & ready members for work, complete required documentation for OVR tract
  • Provide all required documentation for Food Service Unit members including progress reports, etc.
  • Maintain health and safety standards as required by the Clubhouse and regulating agencies.
  • Special assignments as designated by the Director.
  • Attend trainings and Clubhouse functions as directed by supervisor

Requirements

Mental Health Dietary Unit Coordinator Requirements:

  • Associate Degree with at least 2 years of experience in the mental health field
  • Valid driver's license.
  • ServSafe Certification (or obtained within 60 days of hire)
