As an Electrical Designer II in our Overland Park, KS office, you will help us empower our clients to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing power and process industries. This position will offer the opportunity to work in all aspects of the electrical discipline. For electrical systems, you will have the opportunity to design all types of facilities that utilize generation technologies such as reciprocating engines, simple and combined cycle combustion turbines, combined heat & power (CHP), solar energy, and energy storage systems.

In this role, you will use your experience to convert system design concepts into specific layouts by interpreting information set forth in basis of design as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Electrical Designer II:

    Associate degree in electrical design or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer aided drafting and design (or something similar). Additional experience required if no degree.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. AutoCAD Plant 3D & Navisworks experience a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with others (Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers) to apply design codes and specification requirements.
  • Ability to read, modify, and independently create 3D raceway designs including cable tray and duct bank systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret vendor drawings to verify equipment layouts and coordination in the 3D model.
  • Experience with drafting / creating schematics, termination drawings, and one-lines.
  • Ability to independently design lighting layouts including calculations.
  • Generate plans, sections and details from a 3D model.
