Warehouse Program Assistant

YMCA International Services is a unique branch of the Y of Greater Houston and seeks to meet the needs of Houston's significant refugee and immigrant communities. We provide comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. As a Warehouse Attendant on our team, you will play an integral role in helping refugees, asylees, Cuban border crossers, Special Immigrant Visa Holder's and victims of human trafficking gain access to a wide range of social support services with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.

Duties /Responsibilities


  • Receive donations and ensure donations forms are properly completed by donors
  • Assist clients and staff with obtaining items from warehouse in a professional and speedy manner
  • Submit orders and accept deliveries for center community food distribution
  • Support departments with pickups and deliveries as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned , including food pantry distribution
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
  • Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements
  • Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance (example includes but are not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets)

Outcomes


  • Completed donor form for 100% of in-kind donations received in warehouse
  • Community Food Pantry consistently stocked for Friday distributions

Requirements


  • High School Diploma, some college and/or relevant professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional language is helpful
  • Ability to regularly lift over 50lbs with a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient with various computer programs ( Microsoft , Excel, Word) and data entry
  • Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner
  • Comply with the agency's policies and standards
  • Preferred experience with Box Truck and Pallet Jack
  • Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am-5:00pm
