Position summary: Lead and continue the growth of our geospatial, enterprise asset management and technology implementation service lines. The ideal candidate will have strong project management and business development experience and skills with a passion to devise and implement geospatial, asset management and information technology solutions in the infrastructure space. Experience in transportation, water infrastructure, facilities or energy spaces is highly desired. The director will proactively collaborate with project managers, business development and marketing staff and subject matter experts throughout JMT to broaden our customer base, as well as maintain business relationships with our existing customers. The director will also be responsible for engaging with business partners to enhance and strengthen the partner relationship by facilitating partnering activities that will result in positive revenue growth.

Essential functions and responsibilities



  • Provide subject matter expertise on technology choices that apply to the infrastructure market.
  • Monitor new technologies to understand how they may be used or integrated with JMT's solutions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the market, the competitive environment and the solutions and services that we can provide.
  • Develop strategic and tactical business plans for technology solutions and services; execute, monitor and report on the approved plans.
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors and Solution Directors to build a pipeline of new business in the infrastructure market.
  • Work with management, technical, and marketing staff to identify, develop and implement technology solutions that meet customer needs.

    • Lead and manage end-to-end geospatial and GIS projects for state DOTs and other clients across industries, ensuring delivery on time and within scope and budget.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and customize solutions involving geospatial data and systems.
    • Oversee the development, integration, and deployment of GIS solutions and applications for asset management and infrastructure projects.
    • Evaluate business and operational processes related to asset management, maintenance and operations, safety, and capital programming.
    • Develop and implement business process improvement recommendations.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical, operations, engineering) to execute project plans.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment between client needs and project deliverables.
    • Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Prepare and deliver project presentations, reports, and documentation to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Provide technical expertise in GIS, geospatial analytics, and systems as it relates to asset management and the infrastructure market.


  • Lead GIS and asset management technology proposal development that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives and participate in pricing the solution/service including working with the client.
  • Participate in business development by attending and presenting at industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information to the team on market trends; identify opportunities for services that will lead to an increase in sales; using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop our unique selling propositions and differentiators in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company's people and capabilities as it pertains to infrastructure market.
  • Assemble and provide oversight to a team of professionals.
  • Provide project management services, as needed.
  • Provide personnel supervision, as needed.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to show a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding objectives and goals.

  • Must be self-driven, motivated and results oriented.
  • Must be able to travel to client sites as well as to other JMT office locations and domestic travel for industry events as needed.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in geography, GIS, engineering, applied physics, environmental or forest sciences, information technology, computer science, or related fields
  • 10+ years of technology and/or geospatial business development experience
  • 5+ years of experience with infrastructure clients
  • 5+ years of business development experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of personnel experience
  • Experience with Esri and open-source GIS platforms
  • Experience with enterprise asset management platforms


Preferred Experience



  • PMP certification is highly desired.


Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general hybrid office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
