Position Overview

The Medical Training Manager leads the clinical and product training program for the Screening Business Unit (SBU) Medical Affairs team, with an emphasis on the Field Medical Affairs team (Medical Science Liaisons [MSLs], and Field HEOR Directors). This role primarily supports ongoing clinical/scientific education, onboarding, and resource training for the Field Medical Affairs team to effectively execute Medical strategies.

This position is based in the corporate headquarters in Madison, WI.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Execute internal medical education strategy and assess ongoing training needs.
  • Manage, design, and enhance the Medical Affairs' onboarding, continuing education, and training programs.
  • Support Pipeline education and training objectives outlined by the Medical Education, Communications, and Training (MECT) team.
  • Prepare content for and deliver education and training events for medical teams.
  • Determine, develop, and track pre- and post-assessment needs as outlined in Departmental Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Partner with Field Medical Leadership on approaches to address knowledge gaps, coaching opportunities, and skill development for MSLs and HEOR Directors.
  • Establish criteria for annualized product/disease state/key evidence core knowledge and approach for assessment.
  • Coordinate recurring and ad hoc training events for Medical Affairs, including administrative support (calendar holds, agenda management, and communications).
  • Lead readiness activities for Congress attendees, in collaboration with the Congress and Medical Communications Teams.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders in creation of medical content.
  • Prepare submissions and manage training content review through Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR) Review
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes to support consistent and programmatic medical training activities.
  • Assist in the maintenance of key resource documents for the Medical Affairs team including, but not limited to Scientific Narratives, Medical talking points, and internal reference documents.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (infrequent) of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D./Pharm.D./D.O./M.D.; or Master's degree in Life Sciences or related scientific field and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Ph.D./Pharm.D./D.O./M.D; or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related scientific field and 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of Master's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in related field of expertise.
  • Proven track record of high-level prioritization skills and project management to organize and execute assigned workload, employing efficient time management strategies.
  • Critical comprehension of scientific publications, literature searches, and referencing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high quality work.
  • Ability to interface and work effectively across multiple, cross-functional teams.
  • Superior interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D./Pharm.D./M.D./M.S. in Life Sciences.
  • Previous education and training experience, in the pharmaceutical/device space, including curriculum design, learning assessment creation and tracking, and Learning Management System administration/reporting.
  • Previous experience in Medical Affairs function.
  • Experience in MLR processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of US regulatory standards related to communication and dissemination of medical information.

Salary Range:

$109,000.00 - $174,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
