BubbleCast - Operator Summary of Job The Mercury Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the film, forming station, extruders, trim and slitting sections, walking, and monitoring the line, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately. The goal of this cooperative effort is to safely and efficiently meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Maximize machine productivity (uptime, line speed, quality). Complete the AM checklist once per shift. Complete the start-up and shutdown checklists whenever the line is starting or shutting down. Facilitate troubleshooting on any quality issues identified by the Assistant Mercury Operator. Load resins into the Day Bins. Coordinate downtime events such as roll changes or rip outs. Train Assistants on how to perform job duties. Coordinate screen changes as needed. Coordinate breaks and lunches for team. Enter SAP confirmations at the end of each shift for the production run. Ensure shift handoffs are performed at the start and end of each shift with the Operators. Contact Maintenance and Supervisor as needed. Log downtime in SAP. Complete designated section of the daily cleaning board. Ensure team members follow Pregis PPE policies and always wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Must be able to communicate (read and write) in English. Keep work areas clean following 5S guidelines. Keep all tools and equipment in proper places. Other duties as assigned. Physical Environmental Demands:This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities: Work in temperatures of 100 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts. Frequent Standing, walking, stooping, squatting, bending, some kneeling and crawling, occasional bending and twisting, occasional stair climbing. Pushing/Pulling 30 - 50 pounds of force. Occasional reaching, repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers, frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.
