Group 65 develops systems and technologies to enable timely and automated data sharing across DoD platforms (space, air, and surface) operating across vast distances. The group's goal is to provide resilient and interoperable communications across the Joint Force. We use our expertise in DoD and commercial communications capabilities (Line-of-Sight and Beyond Line-of-Sight) and networking solutions to design and build robust connectivity to support users operating in congested and contested environments. We develop algorithms, software and hardware to improve individual communications systems as well as technologies to enable seamless integration across multiple domains. We have expertise in a broad range of communications systems at all layers of the network stack, including RF and Optical, Line-of-Sight and Beyond Line-of-Sight, LEO, MEO, and GEO systems, Media Access Control (MAC) protocols, routing protocols including content-based routing and Software Defined Networking, and transport layer protocols. We develop, leverage, and adapt emerging concepts and tools including distributed software defined networking and machine learning to enable robust and scalable operations across a wide variety of operating conditions. The Communications Networks and Analysis group uses a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight tests to develop new capabilities and to predict and evaluate their performance.


Job Description

The Communications Networks and Analysis Group is seeking to hire a Specialist to plan and execute flight experimentation and field tests. Candidate will help demonstrate communications and networking technologies across multiple platforms and Services to demonstrate long range effects chains. Duties include developingIATT security plans for tactical datalinks testing with joint partners, coordinating closely with relevant authorities to ensure alignment with security standards and facilitating successful test events. The ability to facilitate strong collaboration with test ranges and project leads is required. Candidate will work jointly with test ranges and engineers to help clarify airworthiness requirements and obtain crucial information. Candidate may be required to produce various documents such asSecurity Impact Assessments to document changes to the hardware baseline for approval by relevant authorities and ensuring compliance with security protocols.


Required skills include:
