Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00 pm. This position will require occasional weekends, or evenings to meet the needs of professional credit program assignments.

This position may be eligible for a telework schedule once onboarding into position is completed and with supervisor approval

Primary Purpose of Department
The School of Professional ( SPS) reports to the division of Academic Affairs, reporting to the Associate Provost. SPS works collaboratively with departments, colleges, and academic support units to ensure integrated partnerships for enrollment growth, student success and faculty effectiveness in teaching.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Program Director, Professional Credit is responsible for initiating, designing, delivering and evaluating effective and financially viable continuing education (non-credit) instructional programs.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
The Program Director, Professional Credit designs and delivers non-credit instructional programs in response to the continuing education and training needs of individuals and companies, primarily in the Charlotte region. Programs are currently delivered through face-to-face instruction, online and hybrid.
Minimum Education/Experience

  • Requires a master's degree or to be currently enrolled in a master's program.. The master's or the bachelor's degree should be in adult or continuing education, marketing, communications, business, or another discipline directly relevant to the work of the position.
  • Requires a minimum of four years of work experience directly relevant to the position.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and years of work experience may be substituted for the stated requirements.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Google Suite experience.
  • Attention to detail.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Significant work experience in, and/or knowledge of, the training and adult/continuing
education field - to include but not be limited to the following areas:

  • Educational and training needs assessments and methodologies
  • Identification and analysis of market competition
  • Design of programs (learning objectives, curricula, course content, format) to meet educational and training needs (familiarity with the online delivery of non-credit programs is preferred)
  • Online learning technologies, methods for assessing program effectiveness
  • Selection of competent and effective instructors
  • Evaluation of teaching effectiveness; marketing/promotion of programs
  • Advertising in mass media and in specialized media, including digital advertising; program delivery (facility/logistics planning and evaluation)
  • Financial management (budgeting and pricing).
  • Proven success in generating revenue; work experience at a graduate-level institution of higher education; and familiarity with the Charlotte market.
  • Canvas and Destiny One/Modern Campus experience.
