Dryer Maintenance Tech/Lead

The purpose of the job is to ensure that the Dryer department is running functioning and correctly in a safe manner. The candidate will backup the Dryer supervisor in their roles and will help lead all preventative maintenance and conduct all inventories. This position will support our Adsorbents & Additives Business Unit in Belen, NM.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician:

• Perform maintenance work, such as but not limited to: changing conveyor belts, motors, butterfly valves, filter socks, greasing machinery, bearings, mesh screen replacements, augers and paddles, clutch pads, replacing propane cylinders, and etc.
• Maintain stocking levels for all spare parts, create work notifications/ orders, and issue out parts in SAP
• Use of handheld tools such as drills, airlines, air hammer, hoist, impact tools, etc.
• Troubleshooting skills and ability to make timely decisions

Lead:

• Operate the Dryer process
• Perform backup duties for Dryer supervisor as needed and ability to cover different shifts when needed
• Perform basic SAP transactions related to process orders, spare parts, and etc.
• Operate Front Loader and Stand Up/Sit down Forklifts (once certified within Clariant)
• Train new employees
• Write new work instructions and update existing work instructions and SOPs
• Maintain quality control documents, digital log sheets(spreadsheets), and send out emails/ pass downs
• Fill out Safety Deviations and generate non- confirming reports (NCR's) as needed
• Loading live loads (forklift- trailers)
• Help lead and coordinate Kaizen Projects

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED Required
• 1+ years of prior leadership experience
• 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Must pass and maintain forklift certification
• Must adhere to all Clariant safety rules
• Must be in good standing with Clariant's attendance policies
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in both hot and cold enviroments
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
