The GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (
SMHS) Health and Wellness Center (
HWC) is recruiting for a Staff Clinician I that is a dynamic with a passion for providing social services to health professionals and their families. The
HWC was created with the intention of delivering outstanding evidence-based health care to clinicians, faculty, and staff of the
GWU-Medical Center.
This position is responsible for providing direct clinical services, training initiatives and outreach activities. Responsibilities include individual assessment to determine treatment recommendations, brief counseling interventions, testing, group counseling and referral services. Typically participates in outreach services to meet the mental health needs of the University community, including academic support programs, educational workshops, personal skill development groups, consultation and training programs for faculty and staff. May also conducts crisis interventions and debriefings as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold an advanced degree in a mental health discipline (psychology, social work, or counseling), plus one (1) year of relevant professional experience. Licensed in Washington, D.C. or eligibility for Washington, D.C. clinical license within six months of hire. |
