Job Summary

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for overseeing and performing specialized and general accounting functions for the North America Accounting Shared Services department.

This is based is a hybrid role. Working from home Monday and Friday, and Tuesday through Thursday at one of our offices in St. Louis, MO or Middleton, WI.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

    • Manage monthly close deliverables.
    • Journal entry review and approval
    • Oversight of assigned reporting deliverables
    • Analyze legal and management financial results


  • Liaison with business unit finance and shared service functional teams to provide guidance regarding non-routine financial transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts.
  • Preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules; serve as internal liaison with external auditors for segment audit deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of policies, systems, special financial studies of major importance.
  • Complex accounting work on involved projects or issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of US GAAP; research complex matters to ensure compliance with latest accounting standards.
  • Engage in the assigned topics of accounting matter subject expertise (may include confidential aspects), such as, but not limited to, stock compensation accounting, employee benefit accounting, insurance accounting, and special projects).

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent is required, Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years accounting experience
  • CPA certification required.
  • Supervisory experience required.

  • Strong technical US GAAP accounting knowledge, analytic skills, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to close out issues.
  • Ability to lead/direct employees/offshore personnel.
  • Takes accountability for actions and results.
  • Contributes to a positive and inclusive team environment; inspires others.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentation materials to business leaders.
  • Experience consulting with resources to solve business issues is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver a solution that meets the needs of the business.
  • Knowledge of SAP system is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
