Position Concept

The Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist is responsible for linking Early Head Start to available community programs, service providers, and other supportive services. This position will help establish and cultivate relationships with referral partners and other community resources to ensure participants are provided an array of individualized services and supports. This role will utilize a variety of social media platforms and technology, and the program's bus/mobile classroom.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze social media metrics and generate reports to track performance and ROI.
  • Work with Support Center External Relations Team to include development of marketing materials, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Assist with promotional activities, such as distributing flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Proficient use and effective management of social media platforms.
  • Create innovative, compelling posts, graphics, and campaigns.
  • Represent the organization positively and enthusiastically, enhancing brand awareness and community engagement.
  • Attend community events to increase visibility within the community as well as assist in setup and break down of those events.
  • Participate in activities that increase the community's awareness of Eckerd Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, establishing and maintaining referral partnerships with various community organizations and service providers.
  • Perform community and street canvassing activities, in conjunction with Family Services and Education staff.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, effective outreach strategies by researching and understanding target population demographic and geographic data.
  • Ensure allotted funds are used effectively and efficiently for the improvement of and the development of community relationships.
  • Ensure required staff and materials are available and prepared for events and activities.
  • Evaluate the success of each activity, event, or outing and identifies opportunities for improvement in the future.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Monitor the condition of the mobile classroom displays, reporting any issues such as damage, wear, or fading to the appropriate personnel; ensure the mobile classroom is clean, well presented, and free of any safety hazards at all times.
  • Drive the mobile classroom bus along scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Follow predetermined routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate traffic or other unforeseen circumstances.

Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or related Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with an economically disadvantaged population required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience driving large vehicles and social media management.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy. Professional appearance and demeanor are required. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must be able to travel for training, as required. Travel requirements include local, in/out of state as required. Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Capacity to perform basic physical tasks, such as lifting promotional materials and performing vehicle inspections. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
