Master Mechanic

Role Purpose Statement

Master Electrician is responsible for the electrical maintenance and some instrumentation of the Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge's Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.

Main Accountabilities

• Ability to read and understand ladder logic - troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logix Control (PLC) (Allen-Brady) systems
• Calibrate and/or troubleshoot process instrumentation, use handheld communication (TREX is a plus)
• Responsible for plant wide electrical troubleshooting and repair (electrical circuits of 480VAC or less)
• Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drive (VFD) and AC/DC systems
• Ability to perform general electrician skills including but not limited to running conduit and sizing and pulling wires
• Ability to follow, interpret, and read blueprints and schematics
• Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic industrial equipment
• Maintain electrical switchgear
• Ability to lay out and install conduit
• Working knowledge of thermography
• Other duties as assigned

• PLC experience, preferred
• HVAC experience, preferred

• Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment
• Ability to work in a safety conscious environment
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
• Associate degree and/or technical certification, preferred
• 5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferred

Work Schedule

• Overtime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotation
