Duties & Responsibilities |
Collaboration with the UA teams to develop Campus Master Plans, building/site design guidelines, conceptual designs for specific campus improvement projects, and written/graphic reports on various aspects of the University's campus and lands.
Participates in development of planning policy, studies, analysis, special reports, and site & building development guidelines in support of capital development. Coordinates with architects, engineers, facilities management and operations personnel regarding design and construction projects, infrastructure and grounds improvements, campus circulation, storm water projects and green infrastructure, landscape development, and historic preservation. Supports campus planning with graphic production of deliverables in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Sketch Up. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Coordinates and communicates campus planning activities and priorities to PDC project managers, stakeholders, administration, local and state agencies, and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). Engages in campus planning efforts by understanding current conditions and anticipating future trends influencing change in the campus physical environment. Uses data analytics and GIS to inventory, analyze, forecast and report on current and future campus conditions.
Provides collaborative support in the development and administration of the Campus Master Plan and implementation of long-range campus development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A working knowledge of planning and design concepts and procedures, best practices and standards. Graphic communication abilities. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture or related field or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.
- Five years of planning-related experience.
- AICP certification or interest in pursuing AICP certification.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Planning experience in an academic environment including new buildings and renovations of existing buildings, landscape and open space, and green infrastructure.
- Experience delivering a project while working with or for a public entity.
- Familiarity with University policies, state historic preservation standards, and preservation standards relating to the stewardship of historic and cultural resources within the University's purview.
- Historic preservation experience or familiarity with preservation standards and best practices.
- Experience developing conceptual plans and presentation graphics
- Proven strong track record of managing successful projects, teams, budgets, and schedules.
- Experience in successful team leadership and management including problem solving and issue resolution.
