YOUR DAY TO DAY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer with a background in Satellite Communications (SATCOM) or Telecommunications to join our team. This role combines technical leadership and project engineering duties, contributing to the development and execution of complex electromechanical systems, antenna technologies, and RF solutions. YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:



  • Lead the design and development of SATCOM systems, focusing on hardware, software, RF, and mechanical components.
  • Execute project engineering duties including creating and managing Bills of Material (BOMs), scheduling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
  • Conduct systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, system design, integration, and verification.
  • Work on complex development projects for antenna systems and terminals, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and technical performance.
  • Perform technical planning, risk assessments, and feasibility analyses for various subsystems, .
  • Develop and implement engineering schedules, monitor progress, and deliver program reviews.
  • Lead Modeling and Simulation efforts and conduct detailed technical analyses at the system of system (SOS) level.
  • Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Facilitate system integration and lead cross-functional collaboration between engineering disciplines (RF, mechanical, software).
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of engineering standards, processes, and project documentation.
  • Travel up to 25% (domestic and international) for system deployment and customer interactions.



YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, with proficiency in systems engineering concepts and project leadership principles.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within cross-functional environments and meet program execution goals.
  • Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, MS Project, Excel, and requirements management & system modeling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of RF systems, electromechanical products, and antenna systems.
  • Experience with engineering development cycles (Waterfall, Agile) and IRAD/NPI programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across functions and resolve conflicts.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP system and PLM applications.
  • RF knowledge is highly desired.
  • Previous experience in IRAD or NPI development is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or ACNT (Aruba Certified Network Technician) are a plus.
