Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Utilities Foreman to join our team. This role serves as the field supervisor for our utility crew, ensuring that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in utility projects, along with the ability to operate heavy machinery.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead utility crew with a focus on safety, timely completion of projects within budget, and adherence to the highest quality construction practices.
  • Manage day-to-day wet utilities activities on the construction site.
  • Supervise on-site employees and coordinate with management, design team, inspectors and subcontractors to ensure a successful project.
  • Maintain a well-organized construction site.
  • Operate heavy construction equipment, ensuring precision in tasks.
  • Supervise on-site employees operating heavy equipment.
  • Prepare and submit daily timesheets and progress reports.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements among the crew.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of all aspects of sanitary sewer, waterline, and storm sewer systems.
  • Operate, maintain cleanliness, daily care and inspections of vehicles and equipment, including pick-up trucks, wheel loaders and excavators.
  • Maintain and complete accurate daily and weekly project activity reports.
  • Ensure employees and subcontractors comply with all project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED; 5+ years of relevant heavy civil experience; Supervisory or management experience in construction.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background investigation and drug screening.
  • Basic computer and electronic communication skills are required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of sanitary sewer, waterline, and storm sewer systems.
  • Competency in OSHA utility trenching safety requirements and federal, state, and municipal codes related to wet utilities construction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong conflict management and training capabilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in variable weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work with varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, eye protection, and safety vests.

Pay and Schedule:

  • Salary: $100,000-110,000 / year
  • Full-time (40-50 hours per week)
  • Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays; hours vary based on requirements and workload (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
