Continuous Improvement Process Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Continuous Improvement Process Technician (CIPT) will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of site Continuous Improvement defined by P3. Proactively organizes, facilitates, responds to priorities, & supports site deployment at Tenneco, Angola, reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager. Work with plant leadership to continually improve visual factory deployment leading to a culture of seeing and solving problems and by engaging the workforce as a spokesperson of P3.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Conduct time studies of Type I, II, III work processes, summarize data, and make recommendations to reduce process waste and variation.
  • Data collect material flow and utilize Plan for Every Part database to provide material replenishment routines.
  • Audit P3 System for compliance.
  • Maintain Visual Factory and Visual Management supplies to enable quick-response problem solving.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, scheduling, maintenance of plant Visual fitness.
  • Deliver new-hire Visual Factory overview.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, EH & S Manager & shift Group Leaders to apply floor coating color standards.
  • Ability and willingness to use hand/power tools to perform light maintenance work as it pertains to visual factory projects.
  • Actively participate in the reduction of changeover duration, focusing on the improvement of material, information, and process flows.
  • Kaizen waste out of production processes through observation, data collection, and P3 application.
  • Utilize P3 countermeasures to reduce process variation.
  • Plan, Organize, Champion, & Complete all major Visual Factory projects within the facility.
  • Kaizen fabrication to enhance equipment reliability.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or GED certification.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Email)
  • Good communication skills (written & oral) and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to assist with new employee orientation activities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Tenneco's safety policies/procedures and Plant Safety Rules.
  • Certified in the use of JLG/Scissor Lift, Sit Down Forklift, & Stand-Up Forklift (or willingness to be trained on all)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tenneco, Angola's manufacturing processes.
