The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Job Description
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an opening for a Credentialing Specialist. This position will support multiple departments within the School of Medicine, with the home department being Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multiple Departments across the health system and outreach locations. They must possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with physicians, APPs, audiologists, nursing, and administrative staff. Additionally, the candidate should be organized and capable of meeting deadlines. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Managing new appointments and reappointments for clinical providers at MUHealthCare. -Managing new appointments and reappointments for clinical providers at outreach locations. -Assisting with appointments and reappointments for community providers practicing at MUHealthCare. -Supporting the application and renewal process for state and federal medical and prescription licenses. -Overseeing data collection for biannual clinician reporting. -Managing collaborative practice agreements. -Department liaison with Provider Enrollment. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. * One (1) year of experience confirming work history, education, training, background, and/or reference checks or similar experience. Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with medical staff credentialing. * Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). * Experience with the Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), National Council of Quality Assurance (NCQA), and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) credentialing standards. * Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
