Position Details and Duties The Classroom Aide is a school employee who works under the direction of a certified Special Education Teacher to support and assist in providing instructional programs and services to children with disabilities or eligible young children. The support and assistance include one-on-one, or group review of material taught by certificated staff, classroom management, and implementation of positive behavioral support plans. Services may be provided in a special education class, regular class, or instructional setting as provided in the students' IEP. * Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, etc. as assigned by the * classroom teacher. * Supervise students in designated areas and as assigned (e.g. hallways, bathrooms, cafeterias, * playground, gym, field trips, etc.). * Monitor all classroom students' performance and record relevant data daily to assess progress. * Assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master and reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers. * Participate in parent - teacher conferences, as appropriate * Assist in bus loading and unloading of students from transportation. * Will fulfill duties of a Behavior Technician as needed. * Other appropriate duties as assigned to meet programmatic needs. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Required: * Minimum High school diploma/GED and the below item. * Meet a rigorous standard of quality through completion of Credential of Competency for Special Education Para-educators in Pennsylvania with 5 years' relevant verifiable experience.
