Job Summary

The Safety Technician is responsible for assisting the Plant Leadership in developing and maintaining a strong safety culture in operations. The Safety Technician works across all departments to ensure successful implementation of EHS systems, procedures and policies, thorough investigation of ergonomics, work practices and safety events. The Safety Technician actively participates in reviews and communicates the impact of changes to affected areas to ensure that the changes are integrated into day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the facility's Safety Websites and reporting.
  • Coordinate, participate, and lead internal audit activities. Conduct Safety, Ergonomic and Sustainability inspections, audits, and assessments of Service and/or Manufacturing Activities. Participate as a leader on the plant safety committee.
  • Conduct risk identification/analysis/assessments and maintain tracking of safety related observations (hazspots) and recommendations. Partner with Engineering in JHA reviews. Recommend improvement ideas, communications, updates plant postings and documentation accordingly.
  • Assist Supervisors with near miss, incident and accident investigations. Conduct investigations, publish root cause/corrective action reports and implements solutions associated with Environmental and Sustainability events.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of Safety, Environmental and Health initiatives and Projects. Drive timely resolution of corrective and preventative actions. Report closure rate of the identified in these audits and assessments. Manage adherence to, conducts audits and reviews compliance with the facility's PPE Policies.
  • Provide direction, leadership, safety data interpretation, and technical assistance with items related to Safety, Environmental, Health and Sustainability.
  • Ensure proper handling, quarantine, and disposition of nonconforming and waste materials. Track and assure accuracy of the facility's chemical inventory, including validation of SDS sheets in the 3M Database.
  • Partner in compilation and execution to further Anchor's ZOLL's Sustainability efforts.
  • Partner with Facilities Manager to deploy Corporate Safety Policies and Trainings.
  • Support the preparation of EHS and Sustainability reports.
  • Collects, reviews and maintain OSHA required inspection records.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 or 4 years degree preferred.
  • 2 years of safety experience required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Safety Certification preferred.
